The traditional gala party for the participants of the 21st Saint-Petersburg International Banking Conference will be held in the Marble Palace, one of the most magnificent and picturesque architectural landmarks of St. Petersburg. This gem of the palace architecture, a present of Empress Catherine the Second to Grigory Orlov, is really unique. The Marble Palace was the first St. Petersburg building with the facades fronted with natural stone. According to architect A. Rinaldis designs, 32 kinds of marble from Italy and other countries were used in the decoration of the palace.
